Netflix also recommends specific TVs that already include the app, based on criteria such as ease of access and if the TV automatically updates in the background.

Chances are, you will be able to download the app on your TV without any problems. Doing this will only take you a few minutes and does not require any advanced technical knowledge.

How to Download and Install Netflix on your TV?

There is more than one way to watch Netflix on your TV, but it is best to download the official app if you have a smart TV.

Steps to Download and Set Netflix on Television::

  • Connect your TV to the Internet.
  • Go to your TV’s App Store.
  • Find the Netflix app and download it.
  • Open the application (it may appear on the home screen or slide-out app panel depending on your TV) and proceed through the setup process. You can either register or sign in to an existing Netflix account.
  • Netflix will send you an activation code, so pay attention to it.
  • On a computer or mobile browser, ideally, visit netflix.com/activate.
  • Enter the code from Netflix and press Activate.
  • The Netflix app on TV must be automatically refreshed to log into your account.

How to Troubleshoot the Netflix app on your TV?

If you’re having trouble installing Netflix on your TV, don’t worry. There are some troubleshooting steps to be taken.

First of all, make sure that your TV is connected to the Internet and there are no network problems. See if you can connect your Wi-Fi to your phone or any other device to diagnose the problem. If the problem persists, contact your Internet service provider.

Once you are sure that the Internet connection is not the problem, turn off or unplug your TV. Some TVs have sleep mode that is not the same as turning it off,

So make sure that your TV actually turns off completely – on some devices, you can do this by pressing the power button on your remote for five seconds. Huh. If this doesn’t fix the problem, see if your TV doesn’t have any new updates yet.

It could be that you are running an older system version and once you update it the Netflix app will start working. Your last step is to go to your TV settings and see if you can find any information about why this is happening.

Does your TV have enough storage to keep a new app? Do you need to adjust internet settings?

If you still have no luck, head to the Netflix Help Center and search for “how to use Netflix on TV”, followed by the creator of your TV. This will give you specific instructions for your TV.

There is always something new on netflix. If you are lucky, your TV will already come with Netflix. If not, the steps above will solve you, and you’ll be ready to enjoy everything Netflix has to offer.

The Netflix catalog is always expanding, so be sure to browse your way through their new TV app to discover all the great movies and TV shows.

Can we install Netflix on any TV?

This will depend on whether the TV has the Netflix app installed or the manufacturer has the appropriate app available to install from their server. The actual installation process varies for different TVs.

Most have a menu option somewhere that allows you to download new applications that the manufacturer has made available. Some smart TVs (I don’t know if this applies to everyone) actually make an initial connection to Netflix via the manufacturer’s own servers, only handing out streams when you start watching a show.

If that server is down, Netflix may be unavailable from that TV, but works perfectly on devices such as PCs. After having this problem several times, I switched to using a Chromecast dongle plugged into the HDMI port on the TV to watch Netflix.

I control it with my smartphone. Once a show is running, I can disconnect the phone from my wifi network and the TV continues to show movies, etc.

However, it is useful to keep the phone connected so that the show can be stopped if needed. Now I have these dongles installed on all my TVs because they work with non-smart TVs as long as they have HDM
