Following the Samsung Galaxy S21 series in early 2021, we looked forward to the year-end Galaxy Note 21 line, as Samsung’s stylus-breaking line often kicks off around August. However, this is not likely to happen in 2021.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 21 is likely to be canceled, and according to Samsung’s own CEO, it says it may want to release a new Note phone in 2022 instead of 2021.
Samsung Galaxy Note 21: Everything you should know!
This is after months of speculation that the Samsung Galaxy Note line was canceled, a firm idea not helped by the fact the Galaxy S21 Ultra was confirmed to support the company’s S Pen stylus. So people have been constructing the Note 21 coffin for a long time.

Samsung has not canceled the entire note line, despite such speculation, and maybe just a 2021 entry. We may very well see a Note 22 in 2022 according to the company.
And we can still see stylus-breaking Samsung phones in 2021 – the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 FE, the budget version of the Note 20, rumored, and word that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 may pack an S Pen as well.
So why is all this happening? It is simple: lack of chipset. Samsung confirmed that it is suffering from supply issues, meaning that it is just not enough stock for a new wave of top-selling smartphones.
If the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 has been canceled, then why have we listed the load of leaks and rumors below? Well, it is not certain that the smartphone will not be visible and there is an equal chance that some of these details will apply to the Galaxy Note 22.
When will Samsung Galaxy Note 21 Launch?
Samsung’s CEO has overwhelmingly suggested that the company will not provide a new Galaxy Note phone in 2021. Samsung CEO DJ Koh said, “It’s not that we don’t release new products. Times may vary, but next year we’re preparing to continue.”
Koh told Bloomberg, “The Note series is positioned as a high-end model in our business portfolio. It can be a burden to unveil two major models in a year so it may be difficult to release the Note model in 2H. “
This possibility means that you will have to wait until 2022 for the company’s S-Pen-to-flagship smartphone. Expect the same to be called the Samsung Galaxy Note 22 as the company now matches the release years with its model numbers.
There are rumors that we will see the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 this year with the S Pen stylus, so we can still continue to look at new Samsung products but you may have to wait a year for the new Note phone.
We have heard repeatedly that there will be no Galaxy Note 21 in 2021, so DJ Koh’s information matches previous leaks from some sources. While we cannot confirm this, it is indeed so, it is very likely that by 2022 there will not be a new Note flagship.
The most recent leak on that front takes the form of a Samsung roadmap for the remainder of 2021, with no Galaxy Note 21 listed. An August 19 launch is mentioned, which is when we would expect to see the Note 21 if it was coming, but the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is listed for that instead.

It is worth noting that this roadmap is almost certainly incomplete, as there is not much on it. An anonymous Samsung official said that there will be a new Galaxy Note in 2021, which suggests that the range is completely dead.
This could be the budget version of the Note 20, or the foldable stylus phone under the Note name, or it could just be incorrect information. If the Galaxy Note 21 happens, expect to pay a higher premium for the handset.
In recent years Samsung has always announced new Note models in early August and shipped them approximately two weeks later, so there is a possibility for the Note 21 as well.
The price is a bit difficult to estimate as the year to year changes, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 starts at $ 999 / £ 849 / AU $ 1,199, so we expect the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 to be at least that much.
Are there any Leaks and Rumors Related to Samsung Galaxy Note 21?
There is not much in the way of the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 leaking, and it is likely as the company waits until 2022 to refresh its top-end S Pen towing range.
What can we expect from the next Samsung Galaxy Note phone? For example, the phone is sure to support – and come with – the S Pen stylus, as it is the main selling point of the range.
There will likely be several models as well, with the possibility of being included in the standard model of the Samsung Galaxy Note Ultra or Plus.
The range is also likely to have top-end power, with US users possibly getting the top Qualcomm chipsets of the time, and possibly the top Samsung Exynos chipset in most other regions.
We are hearing that Samsung is preparing an under-display camera for its smartphones, and it may come in the next Galaxy Note. In Korea, the company coined the marketing name ‘under-panel camera’ or UPC, which seems imminent.
